Privacy Policy

Mazda Sales (Thailand) Company Limited (hereafter called “Mazda”) always gives precedence to the protection of the personal data of Mazda’s customers (hereafter called “you”) by collecting only personal data necessary for the provision or delivery of products requested by you, compliance with legal or contractual requirements or Mazda’s business operation. All personal data will be used according to specific purposes. Mazda has no policy to provide data to any external party without prior consent from customers.

Mazda realizes that the right on customer’s personal data solely belongs to the customer who owns the personal data. Accordingly, Mazda strives to protect customer’s personal data in a safe way and carefully use the data. Measures to protect customer’s personal data have been developed to ensure effective management of customer’s personal data within the organization.

1. Enforcement

This Privacy Policy applies to the operations of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd. ("Mazda"), including Mazda's website (www.mazda.co.th), all Mazda vehicle models, services, and maintenance of Mazda vehicles, as well as marketing activities, job applications, participation in events, public relations announcements, provision of benefits, and the presentation of products related to Mazda vehicles, both current and future.

"Personal Data" refers to information that can directly or indirectly identify a living individual only. This policy covers the processing of personal data carried out by Mazda in the following ways:

1. Individual Customers: This includes current, former, and future customers, as well as representatives of corporate entities that are Mazda's customers.

2. Mazda Employees, Officers, and Personnel, covering current, former, or future job applicants, whether for permanent or temporary employment.

3. Individual Shareholders and legal representatives of corporate shareholders.

4. Executives, Authorized Representatives of Corporate Entities, and Mazda's authorized agents.

5. Partners, Contractors, Business Alliances, and Suppliers of Goods and Services, including both individuals and representatives of corporate entities.

6. Service Providers, Contractors, Lessees, and Licensors, including individuals or representatives of corporate entities.

7. Different types of employees contracted by Mazda through third parties (outsource), including interns and probationary employees.

8. Employees and officers of dealers who participate in activities or training organized by Mazda.

9. Participants in activities, exhibitions, or sales promotions organized by Mazda or in collaboration with other entities.

10. Individuals who disclose or transfer personal data to Mazda for processing purpose.

11. Any other individuals who jointly own personal data with the individuals mentioned in clauses (1) - (10) and whose data is processed by Mazda.

In addition, this policy covers the processing of personal data through websites, online communication channels, other applications, customer service centers, activities, and exhibitions, as well as other methods Mazda uses to process personal data (hereinafter collectively referred to as "you" or "your"). However, this policy does not cover personal data that you have provided through channels not under Mazda's control, such as social media networks (e.g., Facebook, Line, Instagram, X, TikTok, etc.), or data that you have provided to dealers or other individuals certified by Mazda.

In case that your personal data was collected before the Personal Data Protection Act came into effect, Mazda has the right to process such data for its original purpose without obtaining your consent. However, if you wish to stop the collection or use of that personal data, you can contact Mazda through the channels specified in this policy.

2. Collection of personal data by Mazda

Mazda may collect your personal data based on your relationship with us, as well as the services and products you use. The personal data that Mazda may collect includes:

1.General Personal Data
  • Basic Personal Information: Name, surname, title, date of birth, gender, nationality, national ID card number, passport number, driver's license number, house registration number, photos, video from CCTV, marital status, job title, company or organization you belong to, educational history, work history, training history, signature, and other identifiable information.
  • Contact Information: Address, phone number, email, LINE ID, Facebook account, Instagram ID, or other social media contact information.
2.Sensitive Personal Data

Mazda will not use sensitive personal data such as race, ethnicity, political opinions, cult beliefs, religion or philosophy, sexual behavior, criminal records, health information, disability, trade union information, genetic information, and biometric data, etc., unless in the following cases:
a) As permitted by law; or
b) You have given explicit consent.

Furthermore, Mazda has no intention of collecting religious information and blood type that appears in your official documents. Please cover such information before providing it to us. If you do not cover the aforementioned information, it will be considered that you have permitted us to cover that information. However, if Mazda is unable to cover the information due to certain technical limitations, Mazda will collect and use such information only for the purposes explicitly stated to you.

3.Vehicle and Service Related Information
  • Vehicle Information: Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), engine number, license plate number, make, model, color, maintenance details, mileage, and vehicle usage history.
  • Insurance Information: Vehicle photos, vehicle registration, vehicle registration book, driver's license, vehicle inspection reports, and beneficiary information.
4.Financial and Transactional Information
  • Financial Information: Income or income range, bank account details (account number and account type), credit card and debit card information, PromptPay information, current assets, income and expenses, and other related financial information.
  • Transactions: Purchase history of goods and services received, product specifications, booking or buying/selling of goods/services, payment details (including bank account number, billing address, amount, date and time of payment, payment method, and refund information), information about interest, down payment, installments and number of installments, date and place of product or service purchase, as well as delivery address, date, and time of vehicle handover, along with relevant documents such as service request forms, booking forms, acknowledgment receipts, invoices, and transaction details such as transaction status and history, etc.
5.Data from Your Devices

Mazda may collect information from your devices to improve your user experience and provide appropriate services, which include:

  • IP Address
  • Cookies
  • Website usage data
  • Unique Identifier such as Device ID, model, and type of device
  • Browser type and version
  • Your Browse behavior and patterns
  • Duration and location of access

This data may be collected from your visits to Mazda's website or use of applications (if any). Cookies and unique identifiers cannot be directly linked to an individual. However, if Mazda can link such information or any other information to you, Mazda will treat that information as your personal data and will manage it according to Mazda's privacy policy.

3. Provision of Others' Personal Data

In case that you provide Mazda with the personal data of other individuals, such as their name, surname, address details, emergency contact phone numbers, or information about family members who use your vehicle, you shall verify and certify that you have the legal authority and permission to provide such information. Mazda will collect, use, or disclose the personal data of these individuals in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

However, please inform these individuals about this Privacy Policy so they are aware of their rights and the terms and conditions, and/or to obtain their consent (or rely on another legal basis as an exception to consent) for sharing their personal data with Mazda for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.

4. How We Collect Personal Data

Mazda may collect your personal data through the following methods:

1.Personal data you provide directly to us

You may provide personal data to us through direct contact, such as making inquiries, filling out online forms, applying for a job, subscribing or registering to receive information about Mazda's products, services, benefits, news, or providing feedback about Mazda's goods and services.

In some cases, Mazda may collect your personal data without obtaining prior consent, such as:

Such operations will be in accordance with the law, including announcements set forth by the Personal Data Protection Committee.

  • To fulfill an agreement or contract in cases where you are a party to the contract, or to act upon your request prior to entering into a contract.
  • It is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest, or for the exercise of official authority vested in the state.
  • It is necessary for the legitimate interests of Mazda, or of another individual or legal entity, provided that Mazda considers that such interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights regarding your personal data.
  • To comply with laws applicable to Mazda.

5. Purpose of Personal Data Collection, Use, and Disclosure

  • To present news, benefits, sales promotion activities, special offers, and other marketing activities through channels you have provided, such as websites, email, phone, or social media, etc.
  • To customize offers and content to match your interests, such as customizing advertisements via websites or online platforms, etc.
  • To promote personalization through analysis of your data and behavior.
4. Product and Service Development
  • To survey your opinions and satisfaction regarding Mazda's products and services.
  • To develop the efficiency of Mazda's products, services, and operating systems.
5. Internal Operations and Management
  • For necessary operations in considering and selecting job applicants, training, or participation in activities.
  • To manage and maintain information technology security, such as system monitoring, risk prevention, and data management, etc.

6. Protection of Mazda's Rights and Interests
  • To manage risks, inspect, and prevent fraud.
  • To prevent harm to life, body, or property of individuals.
  • To record photos and videos via Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) for security within Mazda's premises.

6. Legal Basis for Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Data

8. Compliance with Law

Mazda will disclose personal data only when permitted or required by law, and if your consent is required, Mazda will always obtain consent before disclosing the data.

8. International Transfer of Personal Data

In cases where it is necessary to transfer your personal data to another country, such as transferring data to Mazda's affiliated companies or service providers abroad, Mazda will operate within the framework of relevant laws. We will ensure that the destination country has adequate and appropriate personal data protection measures. This may involve Mazda implementing requirements approved by regulatory authorities, such as using Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), or relying on exceptions permitted by law in certain circumstances.

Mazda will inform you if it becomes necessary to transfer your personal data internationally, providing information in regard with the measures implemented to protect such data, and obtaining your consent if required by law.

9. Retention Period for Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Data

Mazda will collect, use, and disclose your personal data for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes defined in this Privacy Policy and to comply with relevant legal obligations or requirements.

In cases where a specific retention period for personal data is stipulated in an agreement, or for analysis and statistical purposes, the data will be stored and protected according to appropriate standards until the specified period expires.

Once such personal data is no longer necessary for retention, Mazda will delete, destroy, or anonymize it in a securel and appropriate way without prior notice to you.

14. Effective Date and Amendment

This Privacy Policy became effective on October 10, 2019, and was last reviewed on November 28, 2024.

This Privacy Policy applies to all Mazda products and services, including but not limited to Mazda vehicles, after-sales services, maintenance and repair services, online services, websites, applications, contests, surveys, market research, redemption of rewards and privileges, sales promotions, product and service warranty registrations, and other Mazda services that refer to or link to this policy.

This Privacy Policy may be updated and amended from time to time to align with changes in personal data practices related to Mazda's products and services, or to comply with relevant laws and regulations.
